My first thought was what is a Kona? Looks: small crossover; thinks, “its another HR-V;” pictures C-HR in brain; “meh close enough.”

On another Hyundai note I’ve been seeing an Ioniq on my drive home from work.

I sat in a LS500 with a sales guy for fun while the IS was getting a car wash... It’s magical... He just wanted a reason to sit in the LS and talk cars.

Buick Interiors are much better than Chevy interiors. It looks more tasteful and restrained. I detest unnecessary chrome and some of Chevy’s switch gear looks and feels cheap

Buick interiors look like they smell like rich mahogany.

This must be only for new models?

91K for a Velar, idiots and their money.

Those knobs on the Lexus gauge “hood” trigger me, and not in a good way.

Forget the Equinox. The Buick Enclave looks good inside and out. I never thought I’d see myself type that:

They need to redo the Escalade now that the new Navigator is out.

CT6 interior looks really good though.

With the AWD+turbo It’s much much better than everything else in the segment.

Any best interiors list is going to be the Lexus LS and a whole mess of cars that are nowhere near as good. The folded wool door panels! The cut crystal! The thin strips of wood divided by even thiner strips of magneseum!

I was supposed to rent a Range Rover Velar during my week stay in Scotland. I was too late in switching my Range Rover rental to a Velar and seeing these pictures does not make anything better....

From what I have heard many journalists say, they look great but lack in the feel and quality of product used department.

Apparently that’s a special edition and there will be only 100 made. I had a sad when the salesman told me that.

sounds about right by GM standards. I also find Journals suffer from Anti-GM bias. so I’m sure it’s better than they say but not as good as it looks. hahaha

It comes with the Kiriko Glass Executive Package, which is a 23,000 dollar option that requires taking an additional 7 grand’s worth of wheels, audio, air suspension, the big monitor and the heated wood steering wheel. It’s available on all models, regular and hybrid, RWD and AWD. It’s pricey but since it’s a trim option on the Executive Package you get the heated and ventilated reclining rear seats (with ottoman on the passenger side) with shiatsu massage.

For one you’d drive yourself you miss out on door panels that were folded out of a single piece of cloth by an origami master and the cut crystal (BOO!) but you can get seriously the most gorgeous wood I’ve ever seen in a car . LOOK AT YOUR OPTIONS:

Fun Fact: the wood is made by Yamaha musical instruments, which is rad.

Also, I love how they filled what would be a blank space in front of the passenger with a little backlit art piece:

Kinja'd!!!

More cars need to do that.

I’ve been kinda obsessed with the new LS ever since they first showed it. It’s going to be my “if I win the lottery” daily (a RWD 500 in Manganese Luster and Noble Brown leather with the herringbone wood). I love how far they overshot things and went all Rolls-Royce with their S-Class competitor.

I’d wonder how it compares to the Rolls for sure. of course it’s not going to be quite there, but it would be interesting. This car is definitely a want though. Same sales guy said ones the sales slow down(like not sold before they hit the lot) I could have a go. He also said I could test drive LC whenever they get one in. Sold out right now.

In a battle of obsessive nerds obsessing over every detail about a car, you really can’t beat Toyota, especially the nerds they have working at Lexus. These are the people who made the steering wheel in the LFA bottom-heavy so it would return to center in a more linear fashion working for a company that uses a robot to make sure the buttons depress with the correct amount of resistance before they allow it to leave the factory. They use special screws with the Lexus logo etched into them, for fuck’s sake.

So if they decide to obsess over luxury, it’s going to be as good as it’s possible to be.

The Lincoln looks nice, but it still has je ne sais quoi about its interior that makes it still feel like they’ve bolted a lot of make-up on what is ultimately something pretty chintzy.

That the Lexus LC500 interior isn’t on that list is absolutely criminal:
